Belinda Cron is the March Step Up winner for tracking her physical activity at least 10 times a month. Her prize is a gift certificate to Lindaman’s on the South Hill. Lindaman’s has been around 27 years and specializes in healthy, comfort food using all fresh ingredients. Check out Lindaman’s at www.lindamans.com
Belinda used the Step Up Bloomsday and Beyond training tracker to help her get ready for the run. She’s done Bloomsday four times, walking the first one and running part of the past three. This year Belinda ran more of the run that she ever has, in part because of the Step Up training tool, “I liked using Step Up Spokane’s website to track my training and remind me to run a few times each week, so I would be ready for Bloomsday.”
She says she is really not a runner but runs so her son can join her. Now that he is 13 he was allowed to run ahead of his mom at Bloomsday. That’s him in the picture smiling at the start of the run as his mom says “because he was excited to be running by himself this year”! Belinda says he did wait patiently for her on the bridge at the end of the run!
Belinda stays fit and healthy with other physical activity as well. “After I walked Bloomsday in 2008 I signed up for my first triathlon. I am a swimmer and I like to ride my bike so it seemed like a good idea. 12 triathlons later, I am still enjoying swimming, cycling and walking my way through races. I walk every day of the year, and laugh when my neighbors start walking in the spring and talk about how the weather is finally nice enough to get out!” Perhaps they could take a lesson from Belinda’s four-legged friend. “My dog just does not understand why she can’t walk a few miles each day all year whatever the weather may be”.
Congratulations Belinda and thanks for being an inspiration to others to keep moving all year long!
